What are Tactical Fire Plans?

A Tactical Fire Plan provides Emergency Personnel, such as fire-fighters, to devise appropriate incident management tactics during an emergency event. The main objective of a Tactical Fire Plan is to provide detail of a building’s active and passive fire protection equipment and to provide essential instructions for their operation in the case of a fire.

Do I need Tactical Fire Plans in my facility?

Within Victoria, Tactical Fire Plans are required in Automated Vehicle Parking Systems (AVPS) as a safety measure for the building. These diagrams must be displayed outside of any door leading into the vehicle storage area, identifying risk areas, safe pedestrian access, safety provisions, firefighter equipment, sprinkler zones and fire walls.
